Lo Zucchero , Dalkeith

Helloww everybody On this lovely free Saturday Let me have the honor to blog about Lo Zucchero because I wan't to introduce you to our special univited guest of the nite... Introducing....
Mr.Frankenstein
We'll talk further about him but now let's talk through the restaurant ... it's in Dalkieth and along the way we were mesmerized by the area and houses at that suburb... wishing one day we can live there too... there's a house that looks like a cottage and mimics the white house and other semi mansions(correct me if im wrong)... the houses just looks so grand and out of reach *rich People*

So the Cafe and Restaurant along the area also looks very nice. Lo Zucchero is a cafe/restaurant/hangout place/woodfire pizza place that has very inviting and relaxing atmosphere... the staff are very friendly, caring and they pay attention to the customers. It is a cafe coz u can see their range of coffees and teas that looks very temping, looks like they're quality stuff they also sell em raw or in take home packaged one if you like. And it has range of cakes and biscuits to go with em. It's a restaurant offering italian food that taste clean and fresh, also authentic... By autehentic i mean it's unique and one of a kind for example the duck rissoto and squid ink liguini.

And they offer, again very tempting range of wood fire pizza made before you eyes and they are quite uniqe as well we tried the soy sesame honey chicken one and don't mind going for a second for the brie, avocado etc one (Confession, they are 2 of my fave things in the world!!! hence can only remember them 2 ingredients only, haha). They are very light, fresh and just delicious...!
Soo Now Let me talk through the food with the pics
Our Entree, Soy Honey Sesame Chicken Wood Fire Pizza. The Base is very Thin. Chicken tender and moist. Nice smoky gourmet pizza...

Entree No.2 Calamari. It's very tender, the crumb is crisp and clean, it's not oily, served with lemon mayonnaise with Rocket bed.
Duck Rissoto... that get everyone so excited. Miss FDQ and stewie is rissoto fans... CC is duck fanatics... so little wonder we order this! It's Stewie's best food of the nite.. it's not rich, it taste light and fresh (stewie thinks there's basil there which she loves). There's also shitake mushroom in there... The rice is just the perfect consistency, overall it's a champion.
Squid Ink Liquini with spinach, fish and cherry tomato with lemony and garlicy oil dressing. It's probably the least impressive dish of the day according to most of us nevertheless still okayy. A bit Bland, Just nice after we add a bit of salt and pepper.

Around about this time is when Frankenstein come to our table and wondering why in the hell are we taking picture of the food. He is --- Im not sure chef there or just a staff... but he keeps coming back to the table asking why are we taking picture, what are we doing with the picture, Are we gonna put it in internet, and do we like italian food.. and If we're Italian
*Err... 4 Asian Chicks helooww* lols

And He ask what happened to Stewie's foot then he share us some history of his own. His Son broke his leg and he has to take care of him for 8 months... He doesnt sounds too impressed by the whole incident, not impress at all. He say, "I have to take care of him for 8months!8months!! "THen He murmurs to himself "HE better take care of me when I'm old" Which he is already...

*Hope Mr.Frankestein never read this blog or if you think u'r Mr. Frankenstein my apologie...We're just kidding around =P*

By now you're probably wondering why is he Mr. Frankestain at the 1st place- easy- he looks like one.

*Sorry again Mister..if you happen to be as unfortunate as to have read our blog*

*If you think You're Mr Frankestein'son, here's a message 4 u ,TAKE CARE OF UR DAD! lols*

Menu
Hot Mocha and Bacio cake that we all share
Range of Biscuits and cakes
Range of G-e-l-a-t-o
That's the chef making pizza at the back
Overall... It is a VERY NICE LITTLE DINING PLACE --- I PERSONALLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

AND SPECIAL CONGRATULATION TO FDQ AND MISS PETITE WHO JUST DID THEIR HONOURS PRESENTATION!!!ANOTHER MILESTONE HAS PASSED

Jacs - Apple Cross

What best to end our meals other than to have, desserrttt....!! but Vu's doesnt have any appealing dessert... so we were planning to go to Guchee as chowchow suggested, unfortunately we'r late and the place was closing so randomly we went to Jacs.

Miss FDQ was there once to have breakfast which in her opionion nothing special but the dessert are nice!
We were quite lucky coz by the looks of it they were closing (9 past, the time we arrived)we were literally the last customer of the day (you know that annoying bunch of people who never leaves when the shop suppose to be closed)

we only order 2 dessert which take forever to make
Miss Petite (In distress): "Omg!! When is our food gonna come.."
Chow chow (gourmet guru): "It's shouffle dudee... !!do you know how long it take to make shouffle!?"
Miss Petite(Being a B****h): "I don't care! Im a customer."
Miss Stewie and Miss FDQ: "Let's watch this, popcorn??"

Anyhoo, the passionfruit shouffle is nice, it looks amazing... taste.... with cream *bold italic underline that* is quite nice otherwise it's just sour and fluffy with consistency of beaten egg white (foam).

The Chocolate caramel is a beauty!! Unbeatable classic of warm moist chocolate cake with Gooey caramel and chocolate sauce centre than oozes out from the inside, served with vanila ice cream... absolute comfort food.. nothing like classic dessert... everyone loves it. Nuff said.

(plus for not a sweet fan like myself, it's quite light and not so rich. Even the chocolate sauce... which means not sickening and must mean it is a not-so-guilty-pleasure *We'd like to think anyway*=D)

Jacs - dim room feels romantic and cozy- chowchow want a house like this *hint hint*
Chocolate caramel something something
Gooey caramel and chocolate sauce centre - heaveennnnn .......
Look at that soft fluffy cloud-like shouffle, divine....

Vu's - Canning Hwy

G’day my fellow food buddies or anyone else who happen to bump into this blog God bless you for reading , lolss… So today we had dinner at Vu’s, just a Vietnamese restaurant around the corner at canning bridge area near cake’s delight, next to nando’s n thai corner which I’m sure for whoever there in Perth must know!

Anyway… the food is to be frank nothing speciall… but okay, quite nice.. but to come for a second  time, errr maybe nott… We prefers other Vietnamese restaurant… The Food is not very Vietnamese, being a Vietnam restaurant, it’s lack of that vietnames tanginess, sweetness and sourness and that zinc if you know what I mean… It’s just lack of authenticity. They don’t even have broken rice, (orrrr I just wasn’t reading the menu carefully, since chow chow make somebody with walking difficulties to walk such a distance from carpark to the restaurant..=’’’(((( )

So we ordered the bird nest, not really a bird nest it’s deep fried crispy noodle shaped like a bowl, on top are prawns n veges in wat’s seems like oyster sauce..like it sounds, it is quite nice… but pretty ok, nothing wow or spectacular no fireworks at the background …

then the chilli squid… which sauce is exactly like the prawns’ ( except with many many more sprinkling cut chilli), with same vege as well, is pleasant but nothing to get overly excited about…

then the green curry which miss Stewie most look forward too (curry fetish)not bad… nice… the gravy is just the right consistency, not to thick, not too runny… but plain looking, other member say it look quite sad, inside there’s only chicken and onion, on top 2 snowpeas, sprinkled with exactly 3 cut chilis on top, that’s it!!

Then we have the roast pork (it’s probably the best dish of the day for most of the TBS member, expect stewie who is sticking with her curry all the way!)the roast pork is GOOD.. it taste exactly like the roast pork you get in broken rice, but in plenty amount! With sauce..
one word… YUMMM

Oh, I must, on behalf of TBS member make a mark about the rice, The portion is so little!!! 3 portion is a medium bowl of rice…  If u eat lots or really starving or just plain greedy, u need 3 people portion all for yourself. But that being said we didn’t even finish ours…, we just like to make a fuss and complain about things *hahaha*

So, in a nut Shell

In Stewie’s opinion
Restaurant Rating: 7/10 – for being decent, nothing spectacular, nothing worth coming back for
Ambience: 7/10- again, not bad, nothing to get excited about
Service: 8/10 - what more can you ask for? The waiters attend to you and friendly, nuff said
Food: 7/10 – average-average, pleasant
Everything as it should be nothing less, NOTHING MORE

SO NOW Let’s Feast the eyes and let your own imaginary taste bud to judge =D

Wharf - Broome

Sooo..Wharf was where we had our last dinner in Broome, which was sad cos that meant holiday was almost over and we all had to go back to work plus Miss Petite had a manuscript to write..SIGH!!
Anw, enough complaining. We did have a wonderful dinner at this "ulu" place. This is a Singaporean slang which has been brought aboard by Chow-Chow who used to stay in Singapore for 10 years. No wonder she is such a kiasu biatch (sometimes..well..yeah..sometimes). Wharf served seafood of all kinds. We ordered fish and chips (of course), chilli and garlic calamari & prawns as well as green curry. Portion was really small. Even for Asian size like us. The place was pretty windy and it was right in the port. Enjoy the photos!! YES, you too Miss FDQ..

And because we are such a camera whore, couldnt help it but took photo of us :)

Zanders - Cable beach, BROOME

We were awfully shattered cos our kayaking trip got cancelled. The stupid wind was too strong for us to go kayaking. Instead, we ended up having lunch at Zanders at Cable beach. The place was perfect and eventho we didnt get to kayak, but we did have an enjoyable lunch. Chow-Chow had a 5 spice duck with fried rice which according to Miss Petite was really yummy. Miss Petite and Miss F had linguine with chicken, while Stewie had mushrooms risotto with spinach and diced tomatoes. Dining is never complete without desserts, so we ordered a chocolate pecan pie and oreo cheesecake. Chow-Chow adored the pie....We've uploaded the view around Zanders too..just to rub salt to Miss FDQ's wounds.

ZOO cafe - BROOME

After sunset camel ride with our sore backs and aching bumps, we were starving and decided to have dinner at Zoo cafe, which is nearby the cable beach. To our dismay, the place was packed, all tables were full, so we were put on the waiting list. So we went back to our hotel and took a shower. Had our dinner just after 8 and by that time our tummies were growling. But, we did enjoy our food and the atmosphere was nice too.

KOOL SPOT cafe & food in BROOME

Miss Petite woke everyone up at 5 cos she needed to head down to Coles chinatown to inspect her samples. We then decided to grab breakfast and ended up in Kool Spot cafe & food. Miss Petite & Chow-Chow ordered english breakfast tea - their favourite - as usual. Stewie ordered soy hot chocolate. Anyway, we can't remember exactly the name of the dishes, but enjoy the food nevertheless.
